How To Fight The Common Cold During Flu Season

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- It's that time of year again, flu season, but not everyone has to become a victim to the common cold.

The Washington State Department of Health says there are simple, easy ways to avoid getting sick this winter.

The Department of Health says staying on top of washing your hands, covering your cough and staying home from work when you are sick is a good way to stop the flu from spreading.

But making sure your flu vaccinations are up to date is the best preventative measure you can take.

There are two types of flu vaccine, nasal spray and the shot.

They encourage you to check with your doctor about which is best for you.

It's best to get the vaccination now, before the flu season really gets underway in the upcoming months.
