OUTLOOK, WA. -- Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a body they discovered in a truck that was submerged in a canal outside Outlook.

Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies found a 2008 Silverado stuck in the canal Tuesday morning. In that truck they found the body of a man.. The car is believed to have been stuck in this canal for several months and the recently lowered water levels revealed the truck and it's gruesome contents.

Mike Meadows lives nearby. He was driving his ATV when he saw something unusual buried deep in the mud.

"I came down here riding on my 4-wheeler," Mike Meadows said. "And I came up here and I look and I see this object sticking out of there. I couldn't really tell what it was. So I went down the road and turned around and came back and I could see a windshield and a window."

Sheriff's deputies believe the body could be a man from Sunnyside who went missing in April. Deputies also say they don't suspect that any foul play was involved at this point.

Deputies have sent the body to the Yakima County Coroner's Office for an autopsy that will happen some time in the next couple days.
