RENTON, Wa. - The Seattle Seahawks invited the Marysville-Pilchuck High School football team to practice at their facility on Tuesday following last week's deadly school shooting.
The team was supposed to play against Oak Harbor High School in a district championship. After the shooting, Oak Harbor offered to take second place. On Monday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll gave the invite to both teams.
Carroll called Oak Harbor's gesture "extraordinary." He said, "we wish that we could do something to ease the pain of all the people that have been troubled."
