Emergency Responders to Hold Emergency Drill on Wednesday

PENDLETON, Or. - Emergency responders in Umatilla County are holding an emergency drill near Pendleton on Wednesday.

Saint Anthony Hospital, local fire departments and EMS departments including Life-Flight will take part in the drill.

The exercise will help local agencies practice emergency response plans, communications and how to handle a mass casualty incident.

The drill is expected to begin around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

    BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - An inquest has found officers were justified in shooting and killing a Montana man who was high on methamphetamine and had barricaded himself inside a sporting goods store with a cache of weapons and shot at officers.    Jurors said Thursday there was no criminal conduct on behalf of the Billings police officers who shot and killed Frank Joey Half, Jr. last November.

    KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Kennewick man got quite the shock Monday night after finding a startled coyote pup cowering in his home. Jake McChesney was just getting home from work when his dog started barking at something in the kitchen. Jake says he had left his back door open so that his dog could get in and out of the house and believes that's how the coyote got inside.
