Troopers Investigating an Accident that Killed a Man Near Wapato

Troopers are investigating an accident that killed a man Thursday night. Troopers are investigating an accident that killed a man Thursday night.

NEW INFORMATION:  The Washington State Patrol has notified family members of the man killed walking along Highway 97 near Wapato Road Thursday night, and have released his name.  Troopers say 35 year old Rene Morales Perez died after being hit by a pickup truck.

WAPATO, Wa.- TWA Washington State Patrol is investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian Thursday night.

Troopers say 61-year-old Thomas Blackeagle was traveling South on Highway 97 near Wapato Road when he hit a man with his Dodge Ram pickup.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers have not released the man's name. 


The driver is not facing any charges at this time.
