KENNEWICK, WA- The Tri-Cities Fever has fresh turf for the season.

Just in time for the start of a new season, the Tri-Cities Fever will be playing on some new turf.

The old turf, installed in 2007, was worn out.  The team bought that turf from another team who had it since 1999.

The Fever will still use synthetic turf, but because it is new, it will be a lot better for the players.

The team wanted a fresh look with some improvements before they hit the field in February.

"It's just nice to see something brand new, bringing a brand new turf for the fans.  It's something that we can actually call our own.  We can put our own logos on it and it's going to be true Tri-City Fever turf,” said Travis Vance, Director of Corporate Sales Operations.

A company from Texas is laid the new turf.  They started Saturday and are expected to finish sometime Wednesday afternoon.
