NBC Right Now-- The U.S. is now getting more involved after the attacks that happened in France as a top senior official will go to Paris later this week.

Secretary of State John Kerry will go to France later this week in wake of the terror attacks at a satirical French newspaper and kosher grocery store.

Kerry said he will travel to Paris to express solidarity with the victims of the recent terror attacks.

He made the comments during a visit to India early Monday following sharp criticism that the United States had not been represented by a more senior official at a remembrance march in Paris on Sunday.

Dozens of world leaders and more than a million people attended the march through Paris.

It honored those who were killed in three days of violence last week that started with a shooting attack at the Charlie Hebdo magazine's offices, followed by a siege at a Jewish supermarket.

According to officials, it was the largest demonstration in French history.
