OTHELLO, WA - The Adams County Sheriff's Department says a man is in jail after a car chase ending in Othello near Othello High School at 3:00 a.m. causing a two hour late start for school Monday morning.

An Adams County Deputy attempted to stop a white truck for equipment violations; the truck did not stop and a pursuit continued into Othello and ended with Ventura Ozuna III running into a house on 345 E. Juniper St.

Deputies attempted to have everyone in the home exit  peacefully but received no response from inside. Deputies got a search warrant for the white truck as well as the home and The Columbia Basin Tactical Response Team, was activated and responded to assist in the apprehension of Ozuna.

Othello School District Superintendent, Jorge Juarez was told about the incident because of the close proximity to the high school and the time of school starting. The Othello School District decided to have a two hour late start to school this morning.

Ozuna exited the house without incident, and was taken into custody for suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle, felony eluding, and possible drug charges.

Deputies say the white truck was stolen and a stolen 9 mm semi -automatic gun was located inside the truck.
