YAKIMA, WA-- The wheels are now in motion to revitalize the old Cascade Mills site next to Interstate 82 in Yakima. On Tuesday, city council members looked at how to reduce highway congestion once construction starts in the area.

Now a non-profit design firm is in the process of gaining funding and community support for their vision of what should go on the 225-acre plot of land.

Staff at the Mill Park Imagineering Foundation have come up with an incredible design for what they want to see put there instead of just more warehouses and parking lots.

The plan includes things like a permanent farmers market, a sports facility, a theme park, hotel, a western town, and those are just a few of the ideas up their sleeve.

Ron Anderson is the president of the foundation and said right now it is all about connecting with the public on their idea.

"We're not just promoting this concept.  We're talking to people about this concept, this idea and asking them, the developers or others, 'What do you think would go here?  How do you think this will fit?'," Anderson said.

Right now the foundation is in the concept development and design promotion process, they are just now starting to talk to the city about this project.

The foundation will give a presentation of their initial design at next week's Chamber of Commerce meeting and take more ideas from there.
