PENDLETON, OR - The Pendleton Police Chief says a white supremacist gang is responsible for recent violence in the city.

Chief Stuart Roberts says officers arrested three people in an investigation into an off-shoot of a prison gang.

30-year-old Jeremiah Mauer, 43-year-old Gregory Tinnell and 32-year-old Steven Grangood were all arrested.

Roberts says the investigation began in October after three people were injured in a fight.

It continued with reports of gunfire at homes in the North Hill area in November and December.

Then last Friday officers responded to shots fired at a car north of the city.

Officers served a search warrant Saturday at a home on West Bailey Avenue where Mauer lives and seized weapons, along with gang-related literature and documents.
