"Give A Gallon of Milk" Drive Underway at Local Yoke's Fresh Markets

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - The "Give A Gallon of Milk" drive began Wednesday at all local Yoke's Fresh Market locations.

The national campaign is meant to support local food banks across the U.S.

All donations stay local and will directly help families and seniors in our area.

According to Feeding America, families in need receive less that one gallon of milk per person per year.

"For me personally it's neat to be able to see. I personally appreciate every guest that comes through and donates to this cause. It's really neat to know that we are making a difference in our community and we appreciate those folks that help out with that," says Darrell Toombs, store manager at Yoke's in West Richland.

If you want to donate, the milk drive runs from Jan. 14-20, just let the clerk know you want to donate when checking out, or grab a specially marked display tag located in the milk aisle.

2nd Harvest supplies a food network of 250 food banks and meal programs.

The milk drive is also directly supported by Pride, an organization for dairy farmers of Washington.
