KSD Superintendent Discusses $89.5 Million School Bond on February Ballot

KENNEWICK, WA - The Kennewick School District is putting an $89.5 million bond on the February 10th ballot.

Over the past six years, student enrollment has increased by more than 2,000 students.

If passed, Superintendent Dave Bond says the bond would pay for two new elementary schools, one new middle school, replace Desert Hills Middle School, and replace Westgate Elementary.

The bond will also cover other projects, including new roofing, HVAC systems in existing older buildings, IT network upgrades, land for a future high school and elementary school, pre-Kennewick High School design work, and bond costs and fees.
