RICHLAND, WA - Property stolen from a local company could mean more stolen cars. A local towing company says one of their new trucks was stolen sometime between Saturday night and Monday morning.

$500 is being offered by Rad Towing for any information that could lead to finding the truck. The owner explained to me that it's not even the cost of the truck he's worried about. it's the fact that this type of tow truck could help them steal more local cars.

"My concern is what you can do with it. I mean you can steal cars really effectively if you have a tow truck and you know what you're doing," said owner James Hutchinson.

There's hope that maybe they don't even know what they took.

"My goal is that whoever stole it is an idotidiot they can't figure out how to use it."

It's one of the same tow trucks used to clear wreck scenes and can handle nearly any tow. It's likely the truck was a target because it was so new it wasn't marked with company logos.

"Any type of fleet that does towing, their name is going to be all over it. So if you see a tow truck and there's no name on the side of it, that should be a big red flag."

This is the fifth vehicle the company has had stolen including a personal motorcycle. Hutchinson says they've hit some bad luck.

"It's a huge concern. Like I said, the truck doesn't mean anything to me. I don't have a lot of money into it. But I am concerned what people can do with it."

Hutchinson is concerned he'll start hearing of an increase in local car thefts. He says to never trust a tow truck that doesn't have a logo on it and that it's also illegal to tow a truck without the right permits.
