HANFORD, WA - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy say they've come to an agreement resolving two instances where hazardous waste requirements were violated at Hanford in 2013.

The EPA says the first case involved the DOE moving 136 fifty-five gallon drums of hazardous waste from a permitted area to an unpermitted area, without the proper permits.

In the second case, the DOE submitted a closure plan for eight storage units that lacked all the required information.   The DOE was given a $44,722 penalty.
