YAKIMA COUNTY, WA - A Toppenish woman is in jail after leading deputies on a high speed car chase in a stolen car.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says a deputy stopped a  22-year-old woman for speeding in Toppenish at 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

The deputy found out the car was reported stolen then told her to get out of the car. She did not listen and was able to get the car into gear and drive away.

The deputy chased the fleeing car at high speeds for about a mile down E. McDonald Rd.

The woman ended up rolling her car landing on its top. She kicked her door open and began to run.

Deputies booked the woman into the Yakima County Jail for Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle and two outstanding warrants.

Police also filed charges for Auto Theft.
