WASHINGTON STATE- A bill brought to the House Committee Tuesday could potentially end daylight saving in Washington State.

House Bill 1479 would take after Arizona and Hawaii, who have already withdrawn from using daylight saving time and would start on January 1st, 2016.

Representative Scott said after she was approached by voters, she started researching the effects of "springing forward" in the spring or "falling back" in the fall.

Scott explained the real impact is on children, teenagers and pets who have a difficult time adjusting to the time change.

"It's interesting because the change back and forth messes with our circadian rhythms. You have an internal body clock that can't automatically adjust," said Scott.

Nine other states including Idaho and Oregon are talking about similar actions, Representative Scott says most of Asia, Africa and the Middle East already do not abide by daylight saving.
