NBCRightNow.com - The economy is improving, at least in the Tri- Cities.

Community and business leaders came together Wednesday to talk about  the area's economic outlook.

TRI-DEC Director Carl Adrian says 2014 saw steady growth and they are expecting that to keep going into 2015.

Last year we saw record job numbers and 21 consecutive months of job growth.

He says PNNL is also seeing modest growth, they have a new building under construction and two more in the works.

When it comes to Hanford cleanup, Adrian says the budget is slightly up and it should stay steady in the next two to three decades

"The presentations have been very positive, we've seen that the Tri-Cities economy is really out performing the rest of the state. Our population growth is way ahead of the rest of the state and the various sectors, I think have a very positive outlook," Adrian said.

When it comes to agriculture Adrian says consumer food prices are down so that is not exactly as positive for farmers.

Overall Adrian says Tri-Citians need to continue having a positive attitude.

He says we are attracting more businesses and visitors.
