Man in Scuba Suit Arrested on the Greenway in Union Gap

UNION GAP, WA - Union Gap Police say a man in a wet suit wanted for lewd conduct on the Greenway path in Union Gap has been arrested.

The 54-year-old man is being charged with two counts of lewd conduct, two counts of trespassing and one count of 4th degree assault with sexual motivation.

Officers say on December 21st on the Yakima Greenway an elderly woman was approached by a man wearing a wet suit and grabbed the woman just off the path close to the restroom asking her to watch him engage in a sex act.

The woman was able to get away without any problems and called the police but police we unable to find the suspect.  

Police say on Friday February 6th around noon another woman called police after seeing the same man in a wet suit.

Officers arrested the man after finding him hiding in the area.

The suspect had been previously banned from the Greenway for life after being arrested for similar activity back in 2011, said police.
