TRI-CITIES, WA- Strong winds caused tumbleweeds to blow across SR 240 Saturday and mobile homes were restricted on I-82 from Prosser to the Oregon State Line.

Troopers say a three-car accident happened earlier Saturday on SR 240 after two cars stopped because the car in front of them stopped for tumbleweeds crossing the highway.

The third car was not able to stop in time and hit the two cars.

Washington State Patrol wants to remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road in windy weather conditions.

"When you have weather conditions that are not conducive to 55 or 65 mph then maybe you should slow down.  When it's super windy, you should probably slow down," said Trooper Jennifer Barrett, Washington State Patrol.

Earlier Saturday afternoon, the Washington Department of Transportation restricted mobile homes from being transported on I-82 from Prosser to the Oregon state line, but they lifted the ban Saturday evening.
