Posted: Updated:
NBCRightNow.com - Radio Shack has released the list of 1,784 stores it says are due to close by March 31. Two of them are in Southeastern Washington

In Kennewick the Radio Shack at 405 Columbia Center Blvd will shut down.

Also the Valley Mall Radio Shack in Union Gap will close.

The Fort Worth, Texas based company has suffered losses for years and says it will sell up to 2,400 stores.
Radio Shack was once the go-to location for home electronic needs for the american consumer.

But shoppers have shifted to finding what they need online and in big box stores.

And the growth in Radio Shack's wireless business has slowed.

The New York stock exchange suspended trading of its shares and sought to de-list the company.

The bankruptcy plan calls for an agreement with sprint and standard general for those companies to take over up to 1,750 of Radio Shack store locations.

The remaining stores would be shuttered.

The branding on the acquired stores stores will primarily feature sprint.

As of November first the retailer had assets of $1.2 billion dollar and debts of almost $1.4 billion dollars.
