PASCO, WA- Another protest much like the one Tuesday night, is planned for this Saturday. Hundreds of people are expected to show up.

Those protesting against the police Tuesday night started at Pasco City Hall and made their way over to 10th and Lewis Street around 5 p.m.

Pasco Police escorted the group, and officers later blocked off that entire intersection for the peaceful protest.

NBC Right Now spoke with Pasco PD Chief Bob Metzger on Thursday. He said he wants to  be clear on why they decided not to use any type of riot gear or swat vehicles.

"We do not feel the need to intimidate our citizens, that's not something we do. I don't think it's appropriate that, this sort of thing be brought out. We are not going to, we're not a military force. We're here to help our citizens, make sure they're safe. Really, anything we can do to help out residents through this time, we're certainly there to help our citizens."

Chief Metzger said he hopes Saturday is a peaceful protest, as citizens have the right to do. He also said they do have plans in place in case anything turns violent or unsafe but, "He does not want to use that plan."
