Local Businesses Are Pleased With Valentines Day Sales

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- Valentines day usually means heart shaped boxes of chocolates and flowers from someone special, but for local business owners it's one of the most profitable days of the year.

According to the National Retail Federation, Americans were estimated to spend around 18 billion dollars on flowers and gifts for their special someone this year.

Local florists at Sinclair Floral in Yakima told us their business was swamped on Friday and Saturday with flower orders and deliveries.

While they did see some women stopping in to the shop over the weekend they told us the majority of their customers were men.

“It's just fun seeing all the men come in with smiles on their faces and wanting to get a nice bouquet to take back to their loved one; that was really fun it's always a fun day,” owner Judy Sinclair told KNDO.

Over all they said the weekend was a huge success they told me they arranged somewhere between 30 to 40 different bouquets for their customers.
