PASCO SHOOTING: Zambrano's Estranged Wife Speaks Out, Says She Wants Justice

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA - The estranged wife and teenage daughters of the man shot and killed by Pasco Police officers last week are now the Pasco area.

They have been attending nightly rosaries at the scene of the shooting and a mass held Tuesday night in Pasco.

Teresa De Jesus Meraz Ruiz says she simply wants justice for the death of her husband Antonio Zambrano at the hands of police.

A lawyer has filed a claim for damages to the City of Pasco for $25 million.

This includes the loss of  financial support for Meraz Ruiz and her two daughters. Plus for the loss of nurturing and parental care and all other attributes of a father - daughter relationship.

But Meraz Ruiz says she does not care for a claim or for the money, she says she just wants justice.

She said in spanish, "I want justice, punish those people because it wasn't a joke. They took the life of my daughters' father."

She also explained that she feels the officers were cruel in killing Antonio Zambrano and she says they did not have to do what they did.
