PROSECUTOR SANT: Shooting Witnesses Should Come Forward Regardless of Immigration Status

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA - Franklin County Prosecutor Shawn Sant says investigators are still looking to speak with more witnesses of  last Tuesday's shooting.

He says this happened at a very busy intersection and they want to speak with anyone who may have more information.

He also says people without legal status in the country should not be afraid to come forward.

"It's important to our office and in our community especially that people understand look just because you're not here legally or if you've been the victims or you cooperate we're going to do everything we can to make sure that that gets part of consideration," Sant said.

"He wants to just get the facts and anybody who saw anything he wants to get that from them and he's certainly not going to ask them their immigration status. He doesn't care about their immigration status he cares about," Tom Roach, Immigration Attorney, said.

Roach says witnesses should not fear deportation if they speak with law enforcement.
