PASCO, WA- In the midst of what has been a busy two weeks in Pasco after the officer-involved shooting of Antonio Zambrano, a local bakery is caught in the middle of protests and now the business is not doing well at all.

Vinny's Bakery and Cafe needs help.  Some people may associate the outside of the bakery as where Zambrano was shot right outside the front doors.  With all the protests in the area, some would assume the owner has gotten more customers, but that has not been the case.

There have been protestors right outside the doors, all the attention to the business, but almost having to close is not how Vinicio “Vinny” Marin, imagined it.  He suffers in silence, barely making it.

After the incident, Vinny said business went down by nearly 85%.  He had to close down for a couple of days because he was not able to sell hardly anything.

Sergeant Rodrigo Pruneda with the Pasco Police Officers Association noticed too.  He asked Vinny how business was going.  Vinny responded to him with a big smile.

"We'll get through it.  As the week went on, he realized he wasn't going to be able to get through it," said Sgt. Pruneda.

It was Vinny's dream to wake up and make bread.  He said he wanted people to enjoy what he has and to give him an opportunity to show his subs, his bread, and what he could offer.

Vinny was stuck in the middle of a situation that happened right outside his doors.

"He had nothing to do with it, but because he is so close to where it happened, they don't feel comfortable going to his business and purchasing donuts or a sandwich or something there,” said Sgt. Pruneda.

Vinny said he is grateful they have reached out to help.

Despite what his situation looks like now, Vinny said his dream is to keep going and hopefully every client that comes in leaves with a smile because this is his dream.  He wants to keep going.

To help Vinny and his bakery out, here is the Go Fund Me Account the officers set up to help him.
