PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

KENNEWICK, WA- Kennewick Police have found a white pickup truck that may have been involved in a fatal hit and run crash last weekend.

Police found the white Lincoln truck Wednesday morning on South Florida Street, which is not far from where the accident happened on Columbia Center Boulevard.

Right now, police said the truck has some damage, but they are not certain it was involved in the crash that killed 58-year old Michael P. Robinson.

Police did find enough damage and evidence to get a search warrant and take the truck in for investigation.

Becky Ryan lives nearby said she is surprised something like this happened in her neighborhood. "Saw that truck and then I remembered the picture of the video on TV. Where they showed the cameras and I kept thinking, gosh I've seen that truck somewhere and I walk right past it to get my mail so, it's really scary."

Police talked the owners of that white truck this afternoon, but they were not taken in for questioning. Damage on the truck is consistent with the angle that robinson was hit.

However, detectives are still asking for more tips about the crash. If you know or saw anything on Sunday night,  call Kennewick Police.

Right now, police have no leads or any description of the car that hit 58-year-old Michael Robinson near the corner of West 4th Avenue and Columbia Center Boulevard

That's because there haven't been any witnesses that have come forward so far. At 6:15 Sunday night. A passerby found Robinson lying on the side of the street unconscious. The paramedics arrived within minutes and desperately tried to perform CPR on Robinson but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene from a head injury.

Kennewick Police Officer Bryan Weatherbee says even a small piece of information could help them find the person responsible.

"There was no witnesses there and it is crucial to any investigation we have people step forward and tell us the information that they have even if they think it's insignificant and is just a small piece of information," Officer Weatherbee said. "Lots of times that turns out to be the piece that fits in everywhere else in and makes it possible to solve the case."

All police know right now is that Robinson left the Holy Spirit Catholic Church around 6 o'clock and started walking home. Investigators think Robinson tried to cross Columbia Center Boulevard in the middle of the block without a cross walk. He was just feet away from the street he lived on when he was hit by the car.
