16-Year-Old Fatal Shooting in Toppenish Suspect Will be Tried as an Adult

UPDATE: The teenager who police arrested for the murder of a 26-year-old man in Toppenish is waiting to hear what his bail will be now that he is being tried as an adult.

16-year-old Francisco Sanchez-Madrigal went before a judge for the first time Thursday morning now that he is being tried as an adult.

Madrigal is accused of shooting 26-year-old Ramon Verduzco Junior during an argument on Saturday in Toppenish.  Verduzco died a few hours later at Regional Medical Center in Yakima.

Madrigal's bail hearing will be next Thursday.

UPDATE: A judge said Wednesday afternoon in juvenile court that Francisco Sanchez-Madrigal, 16, will be tried as an adult .

The Toppenish boy is accused of killing Ramon Verduzco in Toppenish

He will appear again before court sometime this week.

The suspect is being held on $500,000 bail.
