KENNEWICK, WA- Ken and Teresa's Place in Kennewick will not be forced to close their doors at the end of February.

Enough money was donated to Ken and Teresa's Place to make sure they do not have to shut down. This is not just a concern for the month of March, it is a concern for every month after that.

The day shelter needs about $3,100 every month to keep its doors open to the community.

Ken and Teresa's Place has already cut back on things like food and electricity, and their staff is just volunteers.  They are just grateful Saturday will not be their last day.

"It's a nightly worry, it's a daily worry, because every time I come in here and I see the people, they go, 'don't close, don't close, what are we going to do?'  It's a huge stress," said executive director Steve Gaulke.

The shelter helps keep around 40 people off the streets every day, by giving them a place to shower and eat, and also gives them the resources needed to find a job or get back on their feet.

Donations to the shelter can be made online on their website.
