MABTON, WA- The wife of a man found dead after an accident on a Mabton farm, reflected on her husband's life and how she will stay strong for her family and children.

Nubia Guajardo reflected on her husband Randy Vasquez's life after he was found dead Wednesday at Riverview Ranch in Mabton.

"He was a good dad.  He always put everybody first before himself," said Guarjardo.

Vasquez was on a front-loader when it tipped over in a cow manure pond.  He was stuck and drowned.

His wife said she had weird feeling that night when he went off to work.

“In the morning, I just heard someone banging on the door.  It was the officer.  I already knew he was going to tell me something bad.  He kept telling me to sit down," said Guajardo.

That was when she found out the worst had happened.

“I just wanted to throw myself.  I just wanted to scream," said Guajardo.

Their two young kids, just two and three years old, will forever be without their dad.  She told her son that his dad is in the stars.

"He goes, 'I'm going to get my dad from the stars and the sky.  You want to come with me mom?'" said Guajardo.

She hopes this never happens to other families.

"I would want the ranches to be more careful.  I would want them to actually put something around those holes so nobody could fall through," said Guajardo.

Vasquez will be buried in the Mabton Cemetery right next to his grandmother.   The grave sight is right across the street from where the accident happened.

For now, Nubia is doing what randy would expect of her.

"...for me to be strong.  That's what he would tell me and I know that's what he would've wanted,” said Guajardo.

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries said there has not been a call for any previous safety investigations at Riverview Ranch.  This type of accident is not common, but they are still looking to see how it could've been prevented.
