KENNEWICK, WA - Trios Health released new details Wednesday about recently announced layoffs and what they call an "operational improvement plan."  The statement includes the exact number of layoffs, what positions are being eliminated and in what departments.  See the entire statement below:

Thirty-six (36) Trios Health employees were affected as part of the operational improvement plan outlined at the Feb. 26 board meeting by CEO Glen Marshall. The majority of the staff positions eliminated were managers, administrative support, and clerical positions within the two hospitals and Trios Medical Group. Fourteen management positions were eliminated, nine support/clerical positions in the hospital were eliminated, and thirteen positions were impacted by inpatient and outpatient service line changes. The departments effected by these changes are: accounting, diagnostic imaging, food and nutrition services, human resources, materials management, nursing administration, patient accounts, physician recruitment, scheduling, and security. The effected services are Medical Pediatrics, Therapy Services, and Psychiatry.

Medical Pediatrics:  Several positions in our Medical Pediatrics Department at Trios Women's and Children's Hospital were affected as hospital administration has decided to move those services to Trios Southridge Hospital as part of the realignment plan; these employees will have the opportunity to apply for open positions.

Therapy Services:  Therapy Services, which had expanded services to the Trios Care Center at Vista Field, will no longer be offered at that location in anticipation of the Trios Care Center at Southridge opening this summer. The new facility will offer upgraded services, which we will elaborate on ahead of the grand opening. Services will discontinue at Vista Field on March 13 and continue March 16 at the original Auburn Campus location and as needed at Trios Southridge Hospital for admitted patients. No employee jobs were affected by this change.

Psychiatry:  Psychiatry, an outpatient service which has been offered as part of Trios Medical Group, has been discontinued. Although we value the need for such services in our community, it has not developed into one of our core areas of focus.

The information above was shared with Trios Health employees earlier today.
