YAKIMA, WA.- Sheriff's Deputies have made an arrest in a stabbing that happened early Thursday morning in Naches.

Deputies were called to the 100 Block of Klockhamer Road where they found 39- year-old Tom Patrick with a stab wound to the chest.

According to the Yakima Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Daniel Nelson, who is a family friend, was visiting the home.

They believe there was an argument between the two men and that Nelson then stabbed Patrick.

“The suspect was known to the family, he was someone that was actually welcome in the home and then a disturbance came up and the victim ended up being stabbed several times,” Detective Mike Russell with the Yakima Sheriff's Office told us.

Deputies are still investigating possible motives, but they believe that the suspect was having some delusional issues.

Patrick was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Deputies arrested Nelson around three on Thursday; they found him near the 6000th Block of South Naches Road.

He was booked at the Yakima County Jail on charges of first degree assault.
