GUADALAJARA, MEXICO. -- The body of Antonio Zambrano, the man shot and killed by Pasco police February 10th, has been returned to Mexico.

At the time of publication Antonio Zambrano's body is back in his home village of Aquila. On Thursday night, the body arrived at GUADALAJARA Airport on board an Air Mexico flight. It was then transferred into a van provided by a funeral home and transported with a motorcade consisting of several federal police vehicles.

The driver of the van was asked when he thinks the body will arrive in Zambrano's home village.

"I really don't know but maybe around five or six o'clock at dawn," the man said through a translator. "It depends at what time he is handed over."

The drive from Guadalajara to Aquila, Zambrano's hometown, is just over 5 hours.

The Special Investigation Unit is still in the process of investigating the actions of the three Pasco Police Officers who shot Zambrano after he threw rocks at them.

The family buried the body on Friday.
