Five Injured in Wrong Way Driving Accident on Snake River Bridge Sunday

FRANKLIN COUNTY, WA - Five people were injured in an accident involving three motorcycles and one car Sunday evening around 6:13 p.m.on the Snake River Bridge.

Trooper say the Nghiem Tran, 42 of Seattle was driving her Toyota Corrola the wrong way on the westbound lanes of SR 12 approaching the Snake River Bridge, when she hit Jason Armijo, 42 of Richland who was riding a Yamaha motorcycle. Amijo and his passenger on the bike Kathy Morris, 53 of Richland  were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

Two other motorcycle riders, Kaleb Long, 20 of Burbank and Jennifer Long, 40 of Richland swerved to avoid the car and lost control of their motorcycles. Medics transported them to Trios Southridge Hospital. 

All motorcycle riders were wearing helmets.

Tran is charged with 2nd degree negligent driving.

The accident caused traffic to back up for miles. WSDOT reopened all lanes at 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
