Posted: Updated:
UNION GAP, WA.- Police are working to learn more after a child was shot and killed outside a home in Union Gap early Sunday morning.

Around 1:20 on Sunday morning, police were called a residence on the 1800th block of West Ahtanum Road.

When they arrived, they found 10-year-old Nathaniel Reedy-McCoy outside the home with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police tell us that paramedics did what they could, but the injury was too severe and the boy died shortly after he was taken to a local hospital.

“They attempted CPR and then medics arrived and transported him to a local hospital at the hospital he was pronounced dead,” Sgt. Stace McKinley with the Union Gap Police Department told us.

According to Sergeant McKinley, there were three other people at the home at the time of the shooting including the victim's sister.

No one else was injured and at this time Union Gap police tell us they don't have any leads on suspects or possible motives, however they don't believe the shooting is gang related.

The shooting is still under investigation and no witnesses have come forward.
