Posted: Updated:
WARDEN, WA - The Grant County Sheriff's Office says Warden High School is no longer under lockdown after Warden Police confirmed a threat was just a rumor Wednesday morning.

Police say Warden High School Principal,  Chris Rust said around 9:00 a.m. students told him one of their classmates was going to "shoot up the school today."

The school was placed in lockdown and the Warden Police were called.

Police say the student of interest was not at school and went to the student's home and contacted the student and his mother. Warden Police confirmed that the threat was just a rumor.

The school district released the school from the lockdown, and proceeded with the rest of their day.
