Zambrano's Wife Switches Back to Original Lawyer

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA - NBC Right Now has some new information on the legal issues surrounding the Antonio Zambrano case, the man shot and killed by Pasco Police Officers on February 10th.

Zambrano's widow is going back to her original attorney George Trejo of Yakima who had filed that $25 million claim against the City of Pasco.

Teresa De Jesus Meraz Ruiz sent the letter to attorneys Charles Herrmann., Benjamin Crump and Jose Baez telling them they were discharged as her attorneys and spokespersons and no longer have the authority to act on her and her two daughters' behalf.

She also asked them not to communicate with her and instead contact her attorney Angel Carrazco in Tustin, California or George Trejo in Yakima.

She wrote, "We appreciate all your efforts to date but have decided to be represented by our original attorney."

In an interview with Teresa she had originally said she had not asked for Trejo's representation and that she just wanted justice at that point.

When asked about that, Trejo said,  the way to get justice was through lawsuits.
