Questions Still Remain In Shooting Death Of Union Gap Boy

Posted: Updated:
UNION GAP, WA.- Nathaniel Reedy-McCoy was shot and killed around one in the morning this past Sunday at a home on the 1800 Block of West Ahtanum Road in Union Gap, but so many questions still remain unanswered.

Who would kill a young boy? And more importantly, why? Union Gap Police tell us they're still searching for those answers.

Earlier this week, there were no witnesses who came forward, but Detective Stace McKinley told us they received a tip that someone saw two large dark vehicles near the home where the shooting happened.

“Two vehicles were seen pulled off to the side of the road near the driveway of 1815 West Ahtanum Road, where the shooting occurred, but they didn't see anyone get out of the cars or the vehicles drive away,” Detective McKinley explained.

According to Detective McKinley on the night of the shooting, Nathaniel was outside the home with his grandfather.

They had been watching TV inside when they went to check on the generator, that's when Nathaniel was fatally shot in the chest.

Police tell us they are still in the process of investigating whether this was an accidental or intentional shooting.

If you have any information on the vehicles seen by the home on Sunday, you're encouraged to contact Union Gap Police.
