New Restaurant Could Be Built On Richland Waterfront

RICHLAND, WA- The Richland Hearing Examiner approved a re-zoning and permit for Lu Lu's restaurant Thursday evening.

The next step will be approval from city council. Potential Lu Lu's owner, Cindy Goulet said, "I think the excitement is that it's an opportunity to build the waterfront restaurant from the ground up. Which is quite rare. So it's exciting to be able to do that, I think it's also really awesome to have a new option for waterfront dining in the Tri-Cities."

RICHLAND, WA- A new restaurant could be coming to Columbia Point in Richland, in between Anthony's and the Courtyard Marriott.

The permit is going through approval at City Hall at a "public hearing examiner's meeting" that got underway on Thursday at 6 p.m.

NBC Right Now spoke with the potential owner Thursday afternoon who said she wants to build a 2,800 square foot, two story casual American dining restaurant.

She also happens to own the Three Eyed Fish Wine Bar and Florentyna's in the airport, and wants this new restaurant to be named "Lu Lu's". She said there is a good variety of food and wants to bring in regional wines as well.

Thursday night, a hearing examiner is deciding on that approval for the permit as well as re-zoning the area since it would be on the waterfront.

The next step, if approved, will go to the city council for a vote.
