KENNEWICK, WA --A Kennewick man who killed a woman with his car last year is convicted in court.

47-year-old Michael Johnson faces prison time after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide in Benton County Superior Court on Thursday.

The incident happened in April of last year on West 27th Avenue in Kennewick. Johnson was racing his teen son when he hit 52-year-old Nina Howard. 

Police calculated Johnson was going at least 72 miles an hour in the 40 mile an hour zone. 

The sentencing date is tentatively set for April 2nd.
