Ken and Teresa's Place in Kennewick Needs Help to Stay Open

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - Ken and Teresa's Place in Kennewick is a day shelter known for helping local homeless and families in need.

But last Friday may have been their last day, unless they can raise enough money to keep the doors open for another month.

Volunteers at the day shelter are now trying to raise money to stay open.

They need about $3,100 a month to operate each month.

One volunteer says he knows what it's like to need help.

"I was so poor when I was a kid you know. I didn't have much to eat and I know how it feels to be poor and homeless and stuff like that like when I was a kid but it's always been a wonderful dream of mine to help people like this," says Brian Haisch, Volunteer at Ken ant Teresa's Place.

Ken and Teresa's Place has already cut back on things like food and electricity but they say it's just not enough.

They also held a fundraiser Saturday, March 14th, at Pizza Hut on Vinyard in Kennewick but say they did not raise enough money to stay open.
