JUST ASK SHANE: What are They Building along Burden Blvd. in Pasco?

Posted: Updated:
PASCO, WA - If it feels like you're always seeing something new under construction along the Road 68 corridor in Pasco, you're not alone.  Felicia sent me an email asking, "What are they building off of Burden Boulevard in Pasco, right next to the Discount Tire store?"

Well Felicia, I talked with REA Commercial, the developers behind the project, and found out that this site will eventually become a Hampton Inn and Suites.  They broke ground the first week of March, and right now crews are dealing with some organic issues in the soil as they dig out the area where the hotel's foundation will be laid.

Developer Ron Asmus told me the hotel will have 121 rooms, and we should see walls going up in about three months.  Asmus says a typical hotel construction takes around 14 months to complete, so they're hoping to open in May 2016.

This will be the third hotel located near the TRAC, joining a My Place Hotel, and a Holiday Inn Express.  When it's finished, it will be the third Hampton Inn in the Tri-Cities.  Another Hampton Inn is under construction right now in Kennewick's Southridge area.
