PREVIOUS/ GRANDVIEW, WA - Grandview Police are investigating what they have determined to be an accidental fatal shooting Tuesday evening.    Officers say they were called to a house on the 200 block of Avenue E after people reported hearing a gunshot.  They say several adult men and boys were standing on the street corner near the house, but when questioned were not cooperative.

The officers were able to find a trail of blood leading to the back of the house, but did not find anyone else.  In the meantime they learned a 16-year-old-boy had checked into the Prosser Hospital Emergency Room with a gunshot wound.   He eventually died from his injuries.

Back in Grandview, Police got a search warrant for the house on Avenue E and discovered where the shooting happened.  They took one man and one boy into custody.

Officers continued to investigate through the night, and arrested an 18-year-old suspect from Grandview.   Based on witness statements, officers say it appears a gun was being sold illegally and it went off accidentally.  They say the incident was not gang motivated.

Police say one person is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Yakima County Superior Court on possible manslaughter charges, additional charges could be added.
