OLYMPIA, WA - Eastern Washington Representative Brad Klippert who is part of the Public Safety Committee took part in a more than two hour session Wednesday to talk about how to improve the relationship between the police and the community they serve.

The workshop featured Washington prosecutors talking about their job when it comes to charging police officers in deadly shooting.

They also brought up grand juries and coroner's inquests, one of which we should be seeing in our area before long.

Rep. Klippert made a quick mention of the Pasco Police Department in the midst of the deadly shooting investigation going on there.

"I'm extremely proud of the Pasco Police Department and the great job that they're doing and I hear that over and over again from residents in Pasco of how proud they are of their police department and how how much they trust them and are thankful for them," Rep. Klippert said.

Testimonies at the session also covered how officers can foster a good relationship with young people and how police departments can better train their officers to respond to violent situations.
