YAKIMA, WA - As the calendar continues to inch toward baseball season in the Yakima Valley, the Pippins are excited to announce the first ever skills camp taught by manager Marcus McKimmy. He will assisted by current players and his coaching staff.  The camp will be held at Yakima County Stadium on July 16th-18th during the series against the Corvallis Knights.

“After seeing the response from our clinics last year, we thought it only was natural to add more opportunities for the youth of the Yakima Valley to be involved with our players and coaches,” said Pippins President Zachary Fraser.

The camp, designed for kids ages 6-14, will run from July 16th through the 18th from 9 am-12 pm and includes a ticket for the camper to the game on July 18th against the Knights. Each day, the camp will have specific drills that are focused on the fundamentals of baseball.  Campers will participate in fun games centered on hitting, throwing, and fielding. On the final day, campers will be treated to a slip-and-slide party with Pizza Hut Pizza.

"What an amazing opportunity it is to involve such a rich baseball community with some of the best amateur players on the west coast,” said Pippins' Manager Marcus McKimmy. “This camp is an informative way for kids to improve their baseball specific skills while having a bunch of fun with their friends. I would encourage all kids who like to be outside and at the ballpark to attend our three-day camp and come meet (Pippins' mascot) Scott T. and the 2015 Pippins."

Registering for the Pippins Skills Camp is very easy. Forms are available at the front office (12 South 2nd Street, Larson Building). Campers can also register online at http://www.pippinsbaseballcamps.com or by going to www.pippinsbaseball.com and then clicking on the camps tab. The Pippins are offering an Early Bird discount until April 15 of $75.00. After April 15, the camp price will rise to $99.00.
