The Richland Police Department Promotes Three Officers to Lieutenants

Posted: Updated:
Richland, WA - A position that hasn't been around in almost two decades in The Richland Police Department got three new members today.

Richland Police Chief Chris Skinner promoted three members of the police department to lieutenant and one to sergeant.

This is all part of a restructuring in the department, which hasn't taken place since 1996.

Newly appointed Lieutenant Curtis Smith said "we also have a lot of experience that is on the precipice of retiring and losing that experience. So wile it's here we want to capture that and get that institutional knowledge. Some of the wisdom that is kind of wound up with these individual captains and officers and hopefully that translates into future success for us as we move forward."

Family members honored Curtis Smith, Chris Lee and Tony Striefel with their new lieutenant badges and Tom Croskrey with his new sergeant badge.
