RICHLAND, WA- The March for Respect brought hundreds of people out to push the community to respect people with disabilities.

Nearly 700 people came out to rally and show support at the John Dam Plaza in Richland.

Some participants gave speeches while others enjoyed musical performances.

It was not a day to celebrate disabilities, but it was a day for the community to celebrate their abilities.

"It's awesome.  They get out here and know all about disabled people and how to treat us just like anybody else," said participant Julie Robison.

It was the 8th year the Arc of Tri-Cites has sponsored the event.  There was also face painting and free hot dogs.

The organization hoped coming together would help people show respect for each other some more.
