Wind Gust Throws Tree Onto Trailer

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA. -- If you stepped outside at all Monday, I hope you were well anchored to the ground. The winds have been howling around the region all day.

The wind gusts got very strong this afternoon and damaged a trailer. The roots of a huge tree were pulled out of the ground and it fell on top of a trailer while the owners were still inside.

The tree thankfully only caused minor damage to the trailer and everyone inside was OK. We talked to one neighbor who heard the tree come down.

"I mean I shook it was so loud," Angela Rotter said. "It was like a bunch of stuff I heard hitting trailers. But I didn't realize it was a tree. It was almost earth shaking."

Angela says she saw the owners of the trailer outside visibly upset and openly crying when they saw the tree.

There have been reports of this wild wind all over the Tri-Cities. Did the wind affect your day at all?

Send us pictures at news@kndu.com of what the wind did around you. We'll make a slideshow and put it online and your picture could be shown on the air tonight at 11!
