YAKIMA, WA- Fire Crews arrived shortly after 08:30 Monday morning to a fire at 408 W Pine St.  In the initial call it crews thought people were inside the home but once they arrived and met the home owner at the front door he told crews everyone was out of the house.

The crew attacked the fire from outside until the next fire engine arrived to fully put out the fire.
Crews say the home had two smoke alarms that worked and alerted the people inside which is why they were able to get out using the back door unharmed.

Crews say people had been out on the porch earlier smoking before the fire occurred. Because more than half of the residence is burned with the other 50% sustaining smoke and heat damage the people living there told crews they are going to say with family.
