Thousands of Ducks Filled the Columbia River for a Good Cause

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA- Thousands of ducks filled the Columbia River Saturday for the 27th Annual Tri-Cities Rotary's Mid-Columbia Duck Race.

The rubber ducks were numbered to match the number on each ticket then placed in a large container and lifted over the Columbia River.  Large Lampson Crane's released nearly 40,000 ducks.

The person with the first duck to cross the finish line won a Toyota Camry.

"I'm just hoping we win a Toyota Camry," said 8-year-old Conner Castillo.

Along with ducks, there were hot dogs, bounce houses, vendors, and more.  The duck race happens each year and proceeds go to various charities and organizations the rotary clubs support.
