COLFAX, WA- A Kennewick man has been identified as the hunter who died outside of Colfax after being accidentally shot by a member of his group on Saturday.

31-year-old Nicholas Nava-Farias died after being shot by a muzzleloader rifle. Deputies in Whitman County and other emergency crews responded to the call near Glenwood Road early in the morning.

Since the location is so remote, it took first responders longer to find Nava-Farias. Dispatchers worked over the phone with members of the hunting party to perform CPR on him, but unfortunately Nava-Farias passed away before crews got to him.
